Are mouthwashes that contain alcohol like Listerine safe?

http://www.aolhealth.com/healthy-living/… Heard they are considering pulling such products off the market in Australia because it could cause oral cancer. I found this a bit troubling as I have used the product for years, thinking it was the best.

Funny they would ban mouthwashes with alcohol, that you spit out, and not alcoholic beverages, that you swallow! 8^) My dentist talks about this. He says newer mouthwashes have no alcohol. That 'astringent' feeling you get, that stinging, is from the alcohol, he says, and it's not necessary. I tell him I -like- that feeling. Personally, I'm not worried about it.
