They say that with our current health care system nobody is refused ER healthcare right? What about dental?

First let me state i'm neither a right or left winger but it occurred to me (after a trip to the dentist) is dental considered a medical emergency? I've heard the people who do not want health care reform point out that no hospital will turn a sick patient away because of money. But, I have a hole in my head that's infected nerve exposed because one dentists couldn't properly remove the tooth. Now, i'll be headed to the oral surgeon in the morning. My mom is scared because she says tooth infections can make you very ill or kill you. So, if they tell me the cost to remove whats left of the tooth is $1500 and I can't pay upfront, and my credit score isn't good enough to set up a payment plan what is the next option? Do you then turn to the ER? Because I was told they don't handle dental emergencies. Its very confusing to me why this is all separate and dentist get their own set of rules. Healthcare and dental have always been seperate but I don't understand why if its part of your overall health. So my main question is will you be denied dental services if its an emergency? Thanks

In most cases, YES, you will be denied dental care, due to the fact dental and health care are to separate cases. Now if you are over 18, you have health issues and you need medical insurance, you can go through welfare, which I did and its somewhat difficult if you do not have a dangerous disease, I was kind of lucky in some instances since my disease is very dangerous to my health. But to answer your question, if your mouth became infects, then the emergency room would give you pain medication thats about it. If the dentist improperly removed the tooth and it cause the nerve damage and such, then your mother should call the dentist and if he refuses to pay for it, then she should sue. I mean really dental and healthcare should be one and the same, but in the eyes of the govt they are not as important and thus your overall health does not include your teeth.....its weird.
