My 90 yr old dad recently had a stroke & has complained of a sicking sweet taste. Cause? Don't believe dental.

I have heard of stroke victims having a taste change but wondered if the the sweet taste could be a symptom. He has had good dental care so do not feel it is a leaking filling and he is on the same meds as before the stroke so do not feel it is this. Has anyone had a similar complaint or suggest a cause. He gets regular check ups and the doctor has found nothing.

It's not at all unusal for people after a stroke to have their perceptions of taste change. But Google "sweet taste"+symptom (written exactly like that) and you'll find there are some other conditions that can cause it.
