I'm need some dental work and I know that dental schools often offer discounted or pro bono care because it's students doing the dental work but so far have had trouble finding one in the L.A. area.

All dental school will have students doing the work, they are supervised by experienced dentist, I could understand if you feel uncomfortable i was in that exact situation years ago.
