Who thinks the U.S. needs a health care overhaul?

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

I'm on Blue Cross/Blue Shield (nearly $175 a month just for myself) and my husband receives Cherokee Nation benefits (free). He gets better health care than I do (this includes a $12,000 lithotripsy in 2005 which was all paid for by the Cherokee Nation, as well as ongoing care for a chronic dental issue and cholesterol ... his dental issue and cholesterol are under control). If he was still on my private insurance (it would cost $600 a month additional to add him), he would still be having kidney stones, high cholesterol, and his dental issue. On my private insurance, I can only afford one endoscopy a year (I have a precancerous condition in my throat). I'm in the process of finding out if anyone in my family was on the Dawes roll, because private insurance sucks.

We just need hospitals to stop charging so much damn money, that is the only problem.
