Anyone who lives near any rez sees the blame, the self-pity and the white hating. Yet, not one of those people have less opportunity than anyone else. [If they possess tribal census numbers, which is how tribal members are legally identified to qualify for the gravy train] Each has an inheritance, a piece tax-free land, Each has cradle to grave health and dental care provided by the US Public Health Service and USPHS hospitals, Each is entitled to free government commodities Each has victim status entitlements. So, what's their gripe? The gripe of every Native American is that they were over-run and they had to change their life styles. Same as happened to all our ancestors at some time in the past. Because they've been conditioned to believe 'they' [some long dead ancestors] were cheated, they believe there's a debt that can never be fulfilled. When will Native Americans be grateful for what they have, and cease resentment for what they never had?

No, I don't think they ever will stop blaming the whites for their problems. I don't think there is anything in their culture or spiritual beliefs to encourage them to move on or adopt a forgiving attitude. I think the difference between our white ancestors having had to move and change lifestyles and them is partly the fact that the European whites had a place to go... the USA...to start over, and the NAs didn't have that option. I think this made it easier for the European white immigrants to forget, over the years and generations, why they had come here in the first place. It would be interesting if whites of European origin were to go back to the country of their ancestors and make a fuss and demand restitution for the injustice and persecution that their ancestors suffered...some of them could probably make a case for having been forced off of their own lands.
