Which of these items should the government ensure all Americans have?

Wow this is a good question. Well I think each parts have their own jobs. For instance I think Freedom and Liberty are major ones. I'd say the judicial branch and military are main safe gurdrs for this. I am in favor of Health and Dental because we need to ensure not only life but, a quality of life for all to ensure real freedom (from illness and debts...this allows true freedom). I would also say education is very important and as a governmental system this makes sence people need to be able to borrow and this is working well ...although funds can run out but, benefits are exteneded. As for food, shelter, beverages, clothing, ect I think local charities can be primarly responsible. Government can of course step in when funds are low but, I think this is charity based driven...but, in times of crisis governement should ensure citizens at least have food, water, and shelter. Transportation is a local government thing. It would be great to get better transportation but, hard since our land is so big. Heating/AC units is more of a local gov thing and that could be for assistance. I don't think it's right people die b/c they can't aford their heat that's just messed up. It just isn't right. As for happiness you can't ensure anyone happiness. If the government provides basics then it's up to indvi to work hard and make themselves happy. Intersting question.
