They get free housing, free medical care, separate rations pay for food, free dental, etc. I was in the military for 3 years and it seemed like a solcialist system.

It's really more of a master-servant relationship. They tell you where to go and you go, in exchange, they take care of you as they see fit. Only 3 years? Did you get kicked out or something?
