Any options for free/cheap dental care?

I'm living in Melbourne, Australia. I'm quite sure an infection is growing and 3 teeth are in pain. I've quite deep in debt and struggling to pay bills, pay rent let alone see a dentist. I would need to wait 3 months just to save money for a filling at this rate. I'm worried that by the time i can afford it, the pain/cost will escalate. Any advice as to what i can do? (I work full time so concession community dental care is not an option)

I am in the U.S., but I found the Melbourne School of Dental Science on Yahoo. The dental school may provide inexpensive dental services to the public.
