Germany dental care?

Thursday, November 11, 2010

I am going to be in Munich this summer and I was wondering if anyone knows how reliable and how expensive dental care is. I need all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and I was hoping it might be cheaper there than in the US (I don't have insurance). If you have any FIRST-HAND knowledge of health/dental care in Germany, please respond. Thanks!

I know this one first hand. In 2001 my friend suffered from a horrible tooth ache and we had to take her to the dentist. She had no insurance and all he did was check her mouth out, give her a shot and some medication and told her to have her dentist in the USA look at it when she returned next week and this would help her until then with any pain and prolems and come back if it gets worst. It did not but the cost was about 375 euro! It can be expensive. I would definately call and ask a place the cost i am sure they differ office to office if you have no insurance. I know in some states in the US like mine if you need major dental work done and don't have insurance or the money you can get State vouchers that will pay the dentist for the work. They only cover necessary work not cosmetic though. Good luck
