Healthier on a Budget: Take it to the Internet

For starters, have you joined the Swagbucks craze yet? It's a great search engine where you earn points for searching the Internet. Friday is MegaSwagbucks day when even more points are given out for searches. The points can be cashed in for a variety of items, including Amazon gift cards or PayPal credits. Points can also be earned by shopping on the Internet, taking daily polls, watching videos, and trading in electronics.

Many people warn about oversearching on Swagbucks because you're likely to get points only 2 or 3 times a day. If you have more online searches to do, try iRazoo, which is another point-earning search site. Again, points can be used towards Amazon gift cards. More points can be earned for commenting on or recommending the search results. For Swagbucks and iRazoo, the points earned for searching are randomly given.

But what do you do with all of these Amazon gift cards? Well there's always Christmas presents, but if we're sticking to the "healthier eating" theme, here are a few other options: KIND bars (walnut & date is my favorite variety),  Organic Valley shelf-stable milk, Country Choice steel cut oats, Lundberg brown rice, and Newman's Own organic raisins, just for starters.

Besides Amazon, there are lots of other sites for healthier foods. Nuts Online and Nuts In Bulk are just 2 of the sites with nuts, seeds, and dried fruit. Nuts Online offers 4% back if you shop through ShopatHome.com, and Nuts in Bulk has a daily deal bar at the top of the page with coupon codes. Also, group coupon sites like Eversave or Groupon sometimes offer half-priced gift certificates to sites that sell food.

So what is your favorite site for healthier online deals?
