I'm 11wks pregnant, when do i get free dental care?

the reason im asking is my front tooth has just broke, does anyone know when i am entitled to get it for free, or do you know where i could find this out. I live in glasgow. (dont know if that makes a diffrence!) Thanks in advance x

Hi You get free dental care from now and it lasts until exactly one year after the due date of delivery (not the date of birth). At least that's the way it used to be. I had loads of fillings re-done just in time, when my first child was almost one. It only applies to NHS dental care, not private though, and it seems that there are fewer and fewer NHS dentists around. My own dentist stopped taking NHS patients several years ago and I was pushed into private. Get your certificate from your GP. You'll be able to get it now and it will prove you are entitled to free prescriptions too. Make sure your dentist knows you can't have an x-ray.
