Is free dental care included in England's free universal healthcare? If not, how can socialists be so cruel?

as to not include yet another handout that people "deserve"?

It's included to anyone under 16 who doesn't wish to pay for private medical care. It's also given free to anybody under 18 who is still in full time education (for example, me - 18 year old college student). Anyone over 18 must pay themselves, but everyone can afford it, thanks to the benefits system. Also, NHS check-ups are much cheaper than private ones. Despite popular opinion, British people don't have bad teeth; we've got very healthy teeth, that tend to be naturally crooked. Dental hygiene is very good over here, but it's more function than form, unlike the US.
