Student dental care in ireland?

I am a first year student and I am 18. No steady wages. I think I may need some fillings and I was wondering how much it would cost in Dublin? I hear about people who have been charged outrageous prices that I simply cannot afford to pay. I got a number off the DCU website for a Dr Canavan. Has anyone out there has any experience with him? I noticed that if you have a low income in the UK that you are entitled to free dental care. I'm guessing we don't have that here. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated!

Getting a free dental care is not easy because some of these are only granted to company employees and private schools meaning it's a privilege given to its members.
