Why is any talk of making sure americans all have access to affordable health care called"socialized medicine?

What does it have to be socialized medicine to make sure people have affordable healthcare? and dental care? Why are people bent on painting the most evil picture on a thing that helps people?

we already have socialized medicine. it's called Medicaid. it doesn't have to be referred to as "socialized". All most of us are asking for is a very large "group" insurance plan , where all the people in the U.S. are eligible on that group. Our premiums can be in the form of taxes and if it is that large of a group, all of our premiums will drop dramatically.
