"Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint." ~Mark Twain
I'm not a doctor by any means, but my advice is to be wary of the "latest and greatest" cures or "miracle drugs," whether from pharmacists, doctors, herbists, or naturalists, and to use common sense when reading health books. Knowledge is constantly changing and growing, so what was accepted last week will not be the same as what we know (or think we know) next week. Have you noticed how many medicines and herbs were once considered safe but have now been pulled from store shelves because of the side effects?
The snake oil salesmen of the 18th century, who sold "cure-all" elixirs with no real benefits or results, are still here full-force. Maybe they believe in their product or maybe they're just trying to make a quick buck, but either way - do your research before spending your hard-earned money on health fads.
