Right now I am just taking general studies at a local CC. It's almost time for me to transfer; however, I am having second thoughts on my decided major. Currently I am studying for Marketing but I want to be open and explore other options. I study hard and know I can do whatever I put my mind to, but I just don't want to regret later on. ABOUT ME: I want to go into a field that is not so monotonous and has room for creativity. I like working on "projects" and getting to a goal. I enjoy working and helping people and at the end of the day, making a difference in someone's life is the most reward. I am very goal oriented especially when it comes to school/career. That's why I think I can do better than Marketing. Also, the way the economy is, I am getting discouraged that I will make it out in this competitive field. The job opportunities as well as salary & benefits aren't as high. I am so confused. I want to help people, but I need a stable career to take care of my family and especially my parents. Any insight/advice to help me determine where I belong?

I would say Marketing is very competitive (not trying to scare you), have your ever thought about getting your MBA? I don't know what to suggest for you and I feel bad, but I think that you should take some time and talk to a counselor at your school and they will point you in the right direction. Dental Hygienist make good money, you'de be helping people but I don't think its that creative. At the end of the day please choose something that you love and enjoy....not just money and is it hard to find work in. People who go after what they love to do come out winners in the end. GOOD LUCK
