ie: brushing them or using tooth swabs, etc???? To keep her dental visits minimum..... experienced kitten/cat owners only please!
--------------------
You can start when they're kittens, it's actually better to start them young. You can use your fingers first, because they think it's all a game, but get them used to you putting your fingers in their mouth against their teeth (gently), they will likely start chewing on your finger. When they do, take it away and keep doing this. Gradually, start using a piece of tissue, and always reward them at the end. This will reinforce the behavior until you can gradually use actual finger toothbrushes (order on line or get from vet) along with chicken flavored toothpaste (never people toothpaste). Some cats love eating it - all the better because then they will let you do it regularly. Make it a ritual as cats love rituals at the same time every day and reward them afterwards. This will keep them away from having their teeth extracted which is not the best thing for them in the long run.
