Will I be able to get dental braces in the Air Force?

Thursday, March 3, 2011

I spoke to my recruiter regarding this subject and he told me that the Air Force will pay for it. But I have read that they will only pay for it if the doctors agree that they are bad. Most people would say that my teeth are not bad. I have a gap and my two front teeth are slightly bucked. My two front teeth have been bothering me for a while; over a year and a half now. My plans were to get them fixed after college. Now that am joining the air Force, I wished I had gotten them while in college. Anyway, I just wanted to know if I'll be able to get them while active duty. I don't really care if i have to pay them myself.

As long as they don't impair your ability to do your job (can't see how they would) then they should be OK on active duty.
