I may have a gum infection?

I am trying to switch dental care providers, my question is should I visit my dentist that I havent been to yet (denti-cal) or wait til I switch over to the dentist I prefer. Do you think it will get worse? I had an infection before and I ended up losing a molar. Help me decide!
