Do these products work? I'd obviously like to take care of my pups teeth, she has dental chews she gets a couple times a week...do I need to supplement that with toothbrushing as well?

Yes, ideally you'd be supplementing the brushing with the dental chews:) You should try to brush her teeth at least 3 times a week, more is always better. Dental disease does more than just make their breath smell bad, the bacteria from bad teeth can spread to other parts of the body like the kidneys and heart. The toothpaste you buy for pets has been designed to taste good to them, be safe to swallow, and function enzymatically to help clean teeth. With some patience, and practice, it's quite easy to brush dog teeth but you may have to go slow at first. Offer her a small amount of the toothpaste to lick and see if she likes it. You can then put some on the toothbrush and let her lick that. Gradually move up to being able to gentle brush the teeth. It may take some time but it's worth it.
