My husband was in the Army from 1966-69, 1970-73. He is disabled and gets $64 a month?

in a pension. He was in during Vietnam but they wouldn't let him to go Vietnam. Well, anyway, he had problems with his ankles when he was in the army, and they know this, as he had to have special boots for his weak ankles. When he was discharged they asked him if anything was wrong and he said no. He says he was in a hurry to get out. Well, anyway, the Army CLAIMS they threw all his records away. 1.) I would like to know - is this a line that the army feeds you or is it true? 2.) If it is a line, is there a way to go back and fight his service connection? 3.) What do you get with service connection? Do you get glasses? The VA will do an eye exam for him but won't give him the perscription to fill. What about Dental Care? Will the VA give him dentures? He gets health care now, but in Maine if you aren't service connected, poor care is better than no care.

he needs to contact your local Veterans Service Office. Tell this to him and he will fill out the correct forms for whatever he needs. He definatley needs an upgrade. he can also get his records for him. records are never thrown away. do this ASAP!!
