Presidents Wife/This is for LISA C.?

Well Let's see. My husband is a Marine he is a Sgt. he only makes $900.00 every two weeks. We pay 250.00 a month for Tri-care, 75 for dental, then we have to pay for one truck payment. Insurance on two truck. Groceries are 250.00 every two week. And the commissary is NOT cheaper then any other store, theres no taxes but the prices are jacked up so it really doesn't matter, and if you think base housing is free think again we pay 922.00 a month for it. Oh and guess what we are not on welfare or food stamps we manage to do without so that doesn't happen, and we have two children one teenager and one 9 year old. I'm sorry to say the military does get crapped on alot. But thanks anyway. There are several families that are on foodstamps on our base. And in our case and for lots of people the wives can't work because our children have disabilities.

Let me tell you I feel you. Except we rent a 1 bed 1 bath apartment in Arlington, VA (across from t/he base since they don't have base housing)... we pay $1405month without utilities/laundry, and that's WITH a military discount and my hubby's only a lcpl (hopefully that'll change soon). We're not on foodstamps or anything, but I sometimes wish that were an option, since now we have to move cross country to Cali in 3 1/2 months and we can't manage to save enough thanks to our rent. But that's ok, because we as Marine wives can adapt and overcome just like our Marines because we're tough like that :)
