...which is to say getting implant dentistry done in foreign countries? Two countries which come up on a search are Hungary and Thailand tho there may be others. Anybody with direct (or even secondary) experience care to comment?

I know some Implant lectuer's are actively training implant Dentistry in those countries. So they do have access to the latest techniques there. Make sure you get their qualifications, and so on. Good Luck
