Sensitive teeth and gums are normal during pregnancy. Continue your normal routine (brushing, flossing, etc.) and you can continue to see your dentist. If you don't consume enough calcium, the baby will take it from YOUR body (teeth and bones) so make sure you're taking your prenatal vitamins! If your gums are bleeding excessively then you need to contact your provider/dentist. Having increased saliva is also common among some women during pregnancy. For some women, it is extremely bothersome. If it's really bothering you, then you should talk to your OB/GYN provider. There's not a whole lot that can be done about it, but any serious changes in your health or in the health of your unborn baby need to be noted in your chart. During pregnancy, some women are more prone to caries (cavities) so make sure that you brush well and often. Take care!
