If people are suppose to tip waiters, salons, coffee, ice cream shops, then what about a dental hygienist?

What about teachers, preachers and so on,....shouldn't everyone get a tip for doing good service rather than a select few? What about the social workers and child care providers? I recently went to the dentist and thought well hey, this lady spent a lot of time on my teeth, so why doesn't she have a tip jar or wait around for me to give her one. She did her best job, just as a hairdresser would. It just made me think about things. Wow, I think I deserve a tip too -and not just a verbal remark lol. This is not meant to offend everyone. I am just curious about your thoughts on this.

I don't think anyone should get tipped! I think people should get paid a fair wage for a job well done. When I go to the salon, restaurant, etc., I'm expecting a good haircut, good service with my meal, etc. That should be included in the price of the service! If I love the service - great, I'll bring my business back! If I don't love the service, I'll find somewhere else!
