do you know why im terrified of government run health care?

when i think of government run programs two things come to mind. The RTA (which just had an article running in our newspapers about how hundreds of people got free bus rides because of poor management, yet they had to increase their fees because they needed money) and the USPS (again having to raise fees because they dont have enough money). im sorry but because of this im terrified of government run anything much less healthcare.... currently i have an individual insurance plan thru a company that provides dental, health, and eye insurance in one. Its not too bad, its low payments but some deductibles can get up there. But i wouldnt be ruined if i got really hurt either so.... whats your opinion on government run programs/healthcare?

I try very hard to not look at health-care as a "right". I want to know how to take care of myself and I do the best that I can at it. I have turned to our state health-care in the past and hated it. If it is any example of how poorly they can provide care... I've made it a goal to get off government health-care and I wouldn't want to be forced to stay on it. Terrified is an adequate term.
