I need help with dental advice. I have decayed teeth that have gone bad..?

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

I have one tooth on the upper jaw, in front, and 3 partial broken or decayed teeth in the back sides, so 4 teeth total.. I have sought help at the Univerity clinic and they want 5000 dollar payment with service to have the extractions done, my insurance says that having the extractions is elective.. *yeah right* the rest of what was left of the teeth that have broken are black and jagged or down to the roots.. I don't qualify for title 19 or medicaid right now, but i don't have the money to get the work done, this isn't helping my depression any either. Are there any other options that i don't know about that i could look into. Please don't call me names, and don't say things like should have taken care of Your teeth, my father had the same thing happen to him at 31 as well. so please no snide remarks.. i ask this respectfully. I need help, with this and it takes alot to admidt that this is happening to me. I am ashamed as it is...any thoughts or ideas? Thank you in advance.

I went though very much the same thing. I ended up having 2 teeth pulled, 1 crown put in, and a bridge. They also filled in some chips, but I don't remember what they called it right now. My insurance covered it for me, but it did not cover everything. But they did cover the max amount I could claim in a year. My total bill was over $10000, and they paid $2500. If you don't have insurance, I'm not sure what you can do except try to get on a payment plan. It was definately worth it in my opinion, and I would do it again only sooner.. Good luck, I hope it works out.
