I had a tooth break on Thursday(top right side 2 back from the k9). I was not in much pain. On Friday there appeared to be an abscess above it, after some research I decided to lance it. It releaved the majority of the pain but my gums have since swollen to about 4x normal size, the weird part about it is, both sides are swollen (lip-side and roof of mouth-side), and nothing has helped it: ice and salt water actually agitate and increase swelling! I am on Bactrim for the infection but the swelling has been the same for 48 hrs! Could it be food caught in the gum near the broken tooth? Any help from a DDS or Dental hygienist, or people with similar issues that they resolved would be appreciated thx. **NOTE** I CAN'T GET IN TO A DENTIST UNTIL MAY 4TH!!! I am in a very small town, and I ALREADY tried the E.R. (hence the Bactrim). So please only respond if you have helpful info, and not dental lectures (I take good care, It just broke) Thank You.

keep taking the medicine as the antibiotics do not immediately reduce the sweellink. it starts responding after third day. avoid eating anything from that side and keep doing the mouth wash or warm saline rinses. for more information on abcessed tooth you can visit the following link http://www.identalhub.com/articlecategor
