If i am applying for medicaid in the state of texas, does the Medical assistance program include dental? Or must I fill out a separate application? The application's title says 'Application for Assistance' and I can apply for food stamps, medical assistance, temp assistance, or medicare assistance with it. It doesn't mention anything about dental. Does anyone know or have filled out this application before? I am a low income student that needs help with medical and dental care, how likely am I to receive help? I am 22 and my parents make very little money, so they haven't helped me since I was 17. Is Medicaid only for people with multiple kids and a single parent?

I think you're doing the right thing. Medicaid is for low-income families, single or with kids. Yes, dental(and optical) is included when you get your card. They will provide you with a list of local providers. However, I think there are specific rules for dental coverage over the age of 21. You may be able to find out this information beforehand by visiting their website. Otherwise, they'll send you the information once you have qualified. Good luck, sometimes you need a little extra help in life and that's what Medicaid helps with. =)
