I am 40 years old and was diagnosed with periodontal disease I do not have dental insurance so I can't afford to take care of this and I am having a problem with tooth decay now. Anyone know of any dental health plans that are not too expensive. I am also looking into dental implants what is your experience with implants or dentures?

wow. you are jumping the gun when talking about implants and periodontal disease. YOU need HEALTHY gums and bone before talking about implants. Implants are the end of a treatment plan that includes an evaluation or your home care, full x-rays, a complete periodontal maintenance program, and evaluation of the remainder of your teeth. Once you are in periodontal health, then you may be eligible for implants. In the USA, implants start at around $2000-$3000 a piece not including the crown on top and I've never seen an insurance plan that covers implants yet. But definitely look into getting insurance if you can't pay by cash. Most insurance plans cover basic care like cleanings and x-rays and may pay a portion of fillings, root canals and crowns. good luck. remember healthy gums and bone before implants. No good dentist would place an implant before implementing a perio program.
