Do you take care of your cats' teeth?

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

I'm just wondering how many people look after their cats' dental health. It's an area that goes neglected by a lot of people, despite the fact that 80% of companion animals develop some kind of oral hygiene issue by age 3 and the American Veterinary Medical Association recommends regular brushing. So do you do anything special to help keep your kitties' teeth clean? If so, what and how often?

Cat that eat live prey do not need teeth cleaning. Chewing on all those bones and fur keeps their teeth quite clean. As such, my cats receive no dental care.
