Is there a major cost in going to a hospital for dental care?

Sunday, October 31, 2010

I've been going to the dentist for awhile now and I'm being told that the work I have to get done is going to cost me. I just wanted to know the differences in cost when going to a hospital dentist then a private practice?

Most hospitals only do emergency dental work and then refer you out to your local dentist or community dental office. You can't get fillings at most hospitals, at least not to my knowledge. Extensive dental work can be done in a regular office and often under sedation/ IV. Unless you need reconstruction like of your jaw or something, I wouldn't see why being seen at a hospital would be necessary.
