Free dental care for students in the uk?

Saturday, October 30, 2010

I'm under 18 and I heard that I qualify for free dental care. My mum won't take me because she has a fear of dentist. So can I still go to a dentist and not pay? Also does it matter that I don't have any ID?

You need to register with an NHS Dentist first, and some of them only take on private patients, so try and look around your local dentists' to see if any of them are taking on NHS patients. Yes, you will need some form of identification because they will need your address, full name, DOB, and so on. Also, because you're under 18, if however, you are under 16, your Mum will need to go and register for you and go with you to your dentist appointments until you are 16.
