Medicaid and Braces?

why doesnt medicaid cover the cost of braces? and why is the price of preventive dental care higher in the places where the cost of living is higher?

1. Medicaid does cover the cost for braces in some states, but only until someone turns 18. 2. Insurance companies and medicaid programs try to put off the expenditure for as long as possible. They provide the least coverage for preventive care. They will cover the most coverage to replace teeth when you are already done losing all of your teeth !! In other words, they want you to pay for the cost on your own for as long as possible and then take over when all is lost.
