Help! Terrible teeth : (?

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

I migrated to Canada from a third world country, and back home, no one really stressed on the importance of dental care, and our dental care system wasn't as effective as Canada. And i have a small mouth, resulting in crowding of my teeth, crooked teeth and a snaggletooth. I recently went to a dentist and found out that my poor dental hygiene and overcrowded teeth resulted in A LOT of cavities =( I floss and brush my teeth everyday now. I now know how to properly take care of my teeth, but I want to get those cavities filled. HOwever, being a newcomer to Canada, my family aren't very stable, and we can't afford to get my cavities filled. =( The insurance doesn't cover it. I also want to get braces to fix my crooked teeth, but as I said, i can't afford expensive dental care. What am I supposed to do ? I don't like having rotten, cavity-filled crooked teeth. Help :( It really affects my self-esteem, and appearance.

you might be able to strike a deal with the dentist by working off the cost by doing something he needs done. other than that, paying cash for the dental work is the only other route you can take unless you can get a grant from the government. who knows, may be the government might just help you. i understand your need for dental care. i have no insurance whatsoever, health or dental, so i know how you feel regarding the position you are in. wishing you the best of luck. take care
