anyone from England know the answer?

Hi there i was just curious to know how much on average does a retainer (for teeth) cost, and when do you know if you have to pay fro dental care...like if you work full time, if you live at home etc how much is it roughly... I am from the UK and i just wanted to know how much its going to cost etc. Please provide as much information as possible. Thank you for your time
