About tri-care dental?

Sunday, November 28, 2010

My husband is active first, is his dental completely covered and the dependents not? or are we all supposed to be completely covered where he is active first and on orders for over 120 days? I know the medical is but not too clear on the dental portion. I know we pay a monthly fee out of his pay check for it.

Dental for dependents is separate than that for AD members. AD members go to the clinic on base, dependents go to civilian providers. You have to sign up for it and pay the first amount out of your pocket and then it will be automatically deducted. If he is Active Duty then it starts right away as soon as you sign up for it. You have to find a provider from the website in your area that is accepted and accepts them. You will get 2 free cleanings & 1 free xray per year, then a co-pay on all other work done.
