I have pain a week later after wisdom tooth extraction?

I got one wisdom tooth extracted from my lower left jaw, it was partially impacted. The pain feels like it is where the stitches are in my cheek. My cheek is swollen where the stitches are. I have'nt got the stitches out yet because i'm on vacaction and my dentist said i could wait until this Tuesday which will be almost 2 weeks. But now the pain is pretty bad and I want to go the hospital but I'm not sure if they can take care of dental problems. What do you think is wrong and what should I do, should I go to a surgeon, regular dentist or a hospital. Thanks

Definitely call your dentist b/c he'd know exactly what he did whereas some other doctor or dentist wouldn't know your specific situation. So just give him a call, maybe he'll tell you to go somewhere or it could just be a normal pain from the procedure.
