In proportion of what Americans pay in taxes, and the services the government offers?

Doesn't it seem like we're paying in more and getting less, while those Socialist countries are paying about the same but getting more? I think it's a bit interesting. First I get a 30% tax deduction on my yearly earnings, plus the 6% sells tax -- just how much taxes am I paying exactly? A **** load seeing how I only make around 19k (bring home almost 14k) a year and am living with out health insurance, all I have is eye care and dental. In essence our government is just as big as other leftist countries. The only difference is all our money is going to policing the world, and foreign wars, whereas their money is going domestically. Policing the world and having trillion dollar foreign wars is not limited government, it's a trait of big government.

Actually, our taxes are at the lowest rates in decades. Unfortunately, our spending over the past 10-12 years coupled with the financial meltdown has put us in deep poo. We can not cut spending enough now, so, tax increases are inevitable, again. At least, for a while until we are back in strong recovery mode.
